I am Dagmara. I was named after a book about a young strong-willed girl who immigrated to North America where she lived through many difficulties only to come out smiling on the other side...surprisingly, that sounds a lot like my story.
Raised by a Polish mama-bear in multicultural Canada, I was lucky to learn several languages, which now help me in my work. I later danced and talked my way into many places across the globe and finally set my suitcase down in Paris in 2012.
I love people and all of their expressions. I believe in being true to yourself and not being afraid to show that to the world! For me, photography is about sharing a memory where we both open up and try new things...where you can be as cool as a cucumber or as silly as a rabbit.
Studying and working in photography for the last 7 years, I have been touched by so many wonderful people who allowed me to be a part their important moments, and that is the best inspiration.
And now, I not-so-secretly wish to…
Help people find their true selves, if even for a moment.
Sing in a band.
Step lightly on this Earth and leave it healthy for others.
Participate in a swim/cycle racing event.
Dance and laugh even when I'm crying.
Invent chips that are food for both my soul and my body.
I would love to hear from you on any of these topics...
and of course about your photography wishes (in English, French, Spanish or Polish).
Words aren't enough to thank you for the wonderful pictures you took at our wedding, the love I have for my husband, for our families, the moments of joy, of laughter, you knew how to capture them with simplicity, spontaneity and aesthetics. With each photo, we are reliving this unique moment. Beyond that, you are a touching, sensitive, and adorable person."
"The photographer to have at your wedding, kind, patient, attentive, funny and adorable, she has talent and a touch of madness, Her photos reflect her talent. You are amazing, don't change anything! "
"Dagmara is excellent at making completely awkward people (me) feel relaxed and natural. It is a great gift she has, and definitely makes working with her very enjoyable!"
"Working with Dagmara was a pure pleasure. She was open to incorporating my ideas and had already thought out locations and angles when we met for our shoot. She is friendly, open and professional and therefore makes you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. In short, it is a great experience to have a portrait session with Dagmara and the results are wonderful!"
